Our history
QCT was established on 1 December 1991, with a view to becoming an ecumenical body that all Christian churches would feel able to join.
To date, two short histories have been prepared to document QCT's formation and first 20 years:
- Queensland Churches Together: A Potted History was prepared by Revd Don Whebell in 2004, drawing on earlier work by Elizabeth Harrington, and is presented here with upates by Glenine Hamlyn.
- The First 20 Years - Formation to 2011 was prepared as part of QCT's 20th anniversary celebrations on 1 December 2011.
Since February 2026, QCT has been pleased to share office space with the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese in Taigum.
For its first 30 years, QCT enjoyed office space in Old Bishopsbourne, at St Francis College in Milton.
