The differences between our churches - at least some of them - may be no greater than the differences of theology and ecclesiology within each of them, posits Rev Dr Russell Briese. Russell Briese was the Lutheran contributor to the ecumenical retreat organized by Toowoomba Churches Together in February 2010, in which speakers from the Anglican, Roman Catholic, Lutheran and Uniting churches examined questions surrounding the topics of episcopy and authority on the one hand and intercommunion (Eucharistic hospitality) on the other. We bring you Russell Briese's paper in an expanded form.
