The Federal Government’s new legislation to change asylum and maritime powers laws is a comprehensive assault on Australia’s obligations to protect victims of persecution, giving the Immigration Minister greater power than ever before to act as he wishes, the Refugee Council of Australia (RCOA) says.

The 4th triennial Conference of the Australian Association of Mission Studies (AAMS) was held in Adelaide from 2nd to 5th October 2014 with the theme “Margins, Mission and Diversity”. An important aspect of AAMS is the breadth of its membership in that it holds together people from across the Christian spectrum in complete harmony.
