Crescents Community News, 26 April 2009:

The Muslim/Catholic Delegation from Australia currently on a study tour of Istanbul and Rome head back home this week after an eventful week in Rome where they were invited to a cocktail dinner held in their honour at the residence of Tim Fischer, Australian Ambassador to the Holy See of the Vatican.

On Wednesday the delegation was given special seating at the Vatican during the Pope's audience to a crowd of some 25 000 who filled St Peter's Square.

In between visiting the historical sites, the group held meetings with the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue; the Institute for the Study of Religions and Cultures at the Gregorian University; the Tiber Institute; and the Pontifical Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies.
