Ecumenical Order of Service - floods

Churches in inner city Brisbane joined with the member churches of QCT to hold a service of prayer and reflection following the floods and inland tsunami in Queensland in January 2011. The service was held in the Cathedral of St Stephen on 25 January. This resource is the Order of Service for that event. The liturgy was compiled using elements of other liturgies held around Queensland to pray for and with those affected by the floods, and to pray for the natural environment. Indigenous theologian Evelyn Parkin, from Wontulp-Bi-Buya theological college in Cairns, wrote a prayer specially for this service. We hope that this resource is an inspiration to others wanting to organize similar services.
