QCT delegates will gather on Saturday 21 April for the Annual General Meeting at St Colomb’s Anglican Ministry Centre Clayfield. I realise that a sudden malaise affects people when the topic of AGM’s is raised. Whoever thought of the idea probably didn’t realise the long term ramifications of these meetings and the effect they may have on those attending. I admit that I have attended and sometimes chaired some very ordinary AGM’s. On the other hand I have also been to some inspiring ones where reports were well received and robustly discussed. The AGM is a time when we can receive reports from the various areas of QCT’s life as well as those organisations affiliated with QCT. It is also a time to look forwards as well as looking back.

The Churches Together Indigenous Peoples’ Partnership (CTIPP) held a very successful forum on the topic of Deaths in Custody on 11 April. About 30 people attended from different parts of South East Queensland including Brisbane, Ipswich and the Gold Coast. More forums are in the pipeline for later in the year. Their purpose is to bring indigenous and non-indigenous people together to discuss issues affecting both communities.

20-27 May is the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Resources including Sermon notes, Reflections for the Eight Days, Order of Service, Prayer Card and Poster are available from the QCT Office. Please contact Jela Virzi (admin@qct.org.au or phone 33696792) if you would like them sent to you. This year’s resources are based on those prepared by the WCC member churches of Poland.
