One G-d* Many Voices

The Multi-Faith Centre of Griffith University and the Queensland Forum for Christians, Jews and Muslims, in which QCT represents Christian churches in Qld, are co-hosting an evening of religious chants in the Latin, Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic and Arabic languages.

The Queensland Forum of Christians, Jews and Muslims seeks to come together to build harmony and understanding in the Australian context.

What better way to achieve this than through the medium of religious chant celebrating “One G-d* Many Voices”. Experience sacred chant in the Eastern Orthodox tradition; works by Thomas Luis de Victoria (1548-1611) and the launch of Missa de Caelo, a Gregorian Chant Mass Setting composed by Jack Ho; court music from the time of Herod the Great; Qumran Caves psalmody and Second Temple liturgical pieces; and Muslim chant.

* "G-d" is a Jewish way of pointing to the divine, since in the Jewish faith the divine cannot be expressed in human language.
